Cancellieri Displays Flashing Moments of Exceptional Talent in Positive Aspect for Haywire Lazio

The feeling at Lazio's home ground was far from happy during the weekend fixture. The Biancocelesti found themselves behind against Torino, an opponent that had let in a total of 10 goals while netting just two in their previous five league matches. Ultras from the Curva Nord were concluding their ongoing dissent in a continuous dispute with club owner Claudio Lotito.

This Year's Efforts Unraveling?

Had their campaign coming unstitched, or was there ever a binding element maintaining its structure in the first place? They reappointed Maurizio Sarri to lead the team this summer, before he admitted that the board had failed to disclose a registration embargo they were facing for fiscal problems. Speculation that he could resign were not true, but he stated that Lotito had "misled" him.

Lazio were just as chaotic during matches as behind the scenes, overcoming Verona 4-0 and Genoa 3-0 but falling short in their other opening fixtures, featuring the derby della Capitale. Throughout this period, it has been hard to tell if they are improving or collapsing.

Matteo's Surprising Comeback

One individual kept smiling throughout. Matteo Cancellieri wasn't originally meant to remain with Lazio this season. He completed the previous campaign on loan at Parma and, at the start of the off-season, Lazio were advocating for him to stay there temporarily. The registration embargo necessitated a reconsideration. They were unable to reduce their roster without replacements.

He signed initially under Sarri's first spell, back then just 20 years old product of Verona's academy. He made 20 matches in the league with the club in that campaign, almost all of those from the bench. The ex- sporting director, Igli Tare, who departed after that campaign, would later accuse Sarri of "promising everyone Cancellieri would be a star then never playing him."

Finding His True Position

Maybe Sarri was still trying to work out the nature of the player's talent. Billed as an attacking winger upon signing, Cancellieri nevertheless spent most of that campaign as an ineffective backup to Ciro Immobile as center forward. In 63 appearances during spells with Empoli and Parma in the past two years, his tally was seven goals. Shoehorn
